Every employee who works at this store is SO friendly and helpful!! I LOVE coming in, and have bought all my coats, sunglasses, and socks here! BOTH Alex's, Sarah, Liam, Joan, Ben, Will, and Jo, have all been such an extraordinary help, and are so knowledgeable and informative! But it is the atmosphere of warm welcome, as well as the awesome, top-quality merchandise, that makes this store my favorite, and my dog's go-to destination! BIG SALE on now!! My experience at gearhead is beyond any expectations i've ever had for a store. The manager there, Alex goes beyond. In fact, he took the shoelaces out of my shoe and put new ones in. Liam was there right next to him?Working diligently on the other shoe. As they both were working on my shoes.Sara, help me with some clothing options. I've never felt so taken care of at a store in my life. I will be coming back soon for sure.Thank you all for helping me.

Came out here from the city tracking down a parka. The Highland Park location first, but they didn’t have my size. Zoe was very helpful, and even called this Evanston store to hold the coat for me. Once we arrived and I mentioned my name Ben took care of assisting me with the fitting and sale of the merchandise. Sarah jumped in with some helpful knowledge that helped my girlfriend and I browse for more items. Joan helped us with the gloves. Everything was more than a fair price after signing up for the rewards program, which pays for itself and is not a huge commitment at all. Great experience for first timers. Highly recommend. Thank you people.

For a lot of reasons I don't like to do these reviews. But I wanted to shout out Sarah, who was kind (and skilled!) enough to fix my daughter's backpack on Thursday absolutely free of charge.

Her manager, whose name I unfortunately don't remember, was also super helpful.

Every time I have wandered in to GearHead, I have had a great experience! The store is clean, well organized, and has an excellent selection. During my most recent visit, Sarah helped me pick out an adorable dress that I wear all the time. Even when I come in not looking for anything specific, I always walk away with something I love!

Sarah and Ally were SO helpful when we came in looking for Tevas on a Saturday afternoon. Sarah helped me find the perfect pair of sandals for our upcoming trip and Ally was a joy at the register. Probably the most enjoyable shoe shopping experience I’ve ever had.

I want to sing the praises of Alex at the Evanston Gearhead Outfitters location. A pursuit of new athletic shoes for every day walking on painfully arthritic feet brought me in. My doctor had recently recommended a shoe with a rocker sole, such as Hoka. Alex was very sensitive and responsive to my specific needs and made every effort to help me find a pair that worked for me. This included trying shoes on with and without the rigid carbon inserts also recommended by my doctor. Two consecutive visits, each lasting more than an hour, did not result in a sale for him. My search continues. Alex never pressured me into a purchase that my guilt for taking up so much of his time might have led me into, a purchase I very likely would have ended up returning. On the contrary, he reassured me that he didn’t want me to buy anything that wasn’t right for my special needs.

I rarely leave reviews or agree to take surveys about service I have received, but this is one time when I do want to recognize and express my appreciation and gratitude to Alex for his hard work, patience and understanding.
